Bridesmaids

Sarah Katherine Hudson

Maid of Honor

It all began one day when I saw “SKH” at the Junior League Transfer Committee Meeting and said, “We’re going to be best friends!” And you know, things just have a way of working out. Sarah was there at the Flora-Bama Charity Event atop the Mills Building overlooking the EEOB the night Caroline met Darren, and she spent her time as a text ghostwriter during the early days of their courtship. An alumna of the University of Arkansas, Sarah and Caroline share a passion for the SEC West. Separate from the extra-curriculars, Sarah has always been like a sister to Caroline, a confidant, an inspiration, a shoulder to cry on, and a cheerleader to celebrate with. She and Caroline continue to keep a robust schedule of events both within and without the Junior League, hitting up most every party and event in DC! Sarah is working at FedEx in government affairs.

Hilary Brooks Campbell

Matron of Honor

Hilary is Caroline’s sister-in-law, her brother Barrett’s wife, and mom to Caroline’s two awesome nephews and puppy, Kennedy. She’s a nurse by trade and working the VA, an alumna of Jacksonville University, and fellow Tallahasseean. Hilary has been invaluable as a mentor, and guiding spirit as Caroline has moved from Tallahassee to DC and grown into the woman she is today. Caroline can always count on Hilary to listen and support her no matter what. Hilary loves traveling around the world with Barrett, being creative with art, needlepoint, and decorating, and creating her cookbook inspired by her momma.

Julianne Mica Spence

Julianne is basically Caroline’s big sister and Delta Delta Delta sister forever and always! They grew up just a few doors down from one another in Tallahassee and through all the exciting times of living on Millstream with all the neighborhood kids. Julianne is an alumna of the University of Florida, and the passion the Mica family collectively has for gamedays in Gainesville paved the way for Caroline to find a home in Tuscaloosa {SEC!}. Prior to the Army, JMS was Caroline’s connection to DC after arriving in 2013 and taught her everything she knows about navigating the BIG city. Julianne got Caroline involved with the Florida House and the Florida State Society to make friends. Julianne is now living as an Army wife at Fort Bragg after serving in Army Intelligence and deploying through CENTCOM. Caroline nicknamed Julianne “Army Barbie”! Well, the Army sure found a winner in Julianne, and she found a husband, Sergeant First Class Dewey Spence.

Dixie Leigh Folsom

These two Tallahassee Lassies grew up together and have been the life of the party from the day they met! When Caroline lived in Tally post college, Dixie and Caroline loved to gather friends for watch parties, happy hour, and dinner parties. Their love of cooking, home decorating, and traveling keep these two bonded together. Dixie is full of life, beyond witty and super smart; her joy and love of life is infectious! Dixie now lives in Nashville and works as a veterinarian medical consultant. She is an alumna of Florida State University, where she studied International Affairs.

Caroline Robichaux

The Carolines were both princesses on the Fiesta Court in 2011 at the 10-day heritage celebration festival in Pensacola, Fiesta of Five Flags. They became instant friends and soon the “twins” since they are just alike. They are known to sing a certain ballad of their namesake at the Piano Bar at Seville Quarter or just about anywhere the song comes on! With Pensacola being a second hometown to CC, Caroline makes it feel like home and is her family. Caroline is thoughtful, kind, and a dear friend who CC can always count on. Caroline Robi and her parents, Eugene and Angela, hosted a wonderful, impromptu engagement celebration soon after Darren proposed! Caroline is an alumna of the University of Florida, and now lives in New Orleans working in early childhood development.

Hyatt Epley Brunetti

Caroline met Hyatt during Rush 2007 at the University of Alabama and Hyatt is one of the biggest reasons Caroline chose to be a Delta Delta Delta. As roommates they bonded over sorority recruitment {IYKYK}, Newks, the Round House sleeping porch, late night pop tarts and early mornings with cheese grits. Hyatt is native of Memphis, a die-hard Grizzlies fan and always singing along to James Brown and Joan Jett. Hyatt and Caroline love to reminisce on college memories and support each other in life’s adventures. Hyatt is quite clever, genuine, caring, and has a delightful humor. She is a teacher and married to her wonderful husband and French Naval Pilot, Olivier, and they live in France with their daughter, and Queen Prudence, the cat!

Katherine Rodriguez

Katherine and Caroline met in 2015 through the Florida State Society {FSS} and then the Junior League of Washington. While on the FSS Board, they hosted many, many events (including the Annual Flora-Bama Charity Event) with Congressmen and women and the society at the Florida House - Florida’s state embassy in DC. She became a mentor to Caroline when serving on the JLW New Member Committee and other committees. Kathy is the type of friend who is always there to help and be by your side at the drop of a hat. She was especially amazing that one time Caroline moved into her single-girl apartment! She’s kind, funny, loving, and matter-of-fact all at once. Kathy is from Daytona, Florida, and is an alumna of the University of Central Florida, where she studied political science. She works in public relations and consulting in DC.

Mary Margaret Hart

Caroline met Mary Margaret in 2017, through the Sunday Supper Club {a social club founded to meet on Sunday evenings over a home cooked meal} and the Junior League of Washington as volunteers. She is a native of Ormond Beach, Florida and an alumna of Furman University, where she studied musical theater. She’s currently an events executive who organizes and executes some of the most well-heeled events in Washington. She was responsible for the re-opening of the Spy Museum in DC. Caroline and Mary Margaret love to entertain their friends, dream up beautiful parties, and eat really good food! Mary Margaret is kind hearted, smart, funny and the epitome of a Southern woman. Caroline can always count on MMH to say "yes" to new adventures like picnic dates and shopping trips. Mary Margaret is also the puppy momma of Miss Millie Mae Hart - the sweetest little havapoo!

Groomsmen

Ethan.JPG

Ethan Trace Kinnaird

Best Man

Darren’s kid brother, Ethan is the best man. Like his brothers before him, Ethan attends Auburn University. While the age gap meant Darren was off to college before Ethan had learned his multiplication tables, Ethan has grown into a man after God’s own heart. Ethan’s intelligence, organization, drive, and discernment shine through in all he does. Ethan was always supportive and did not seem to mind the trek up and down 280 to visit with his big brother in Auburn. Ethan is kind, caring, and joyful. He really enjoys the outdoors, hiking, and fishing. He followed both of his brothers to the Jefferson County International Baccalaureate School and outshined them both. Ethan’s pristine high school and college GPAs remain atop the medal stand in the Kinnaird household. Darren had the privilege to be Ethan’s co-worker during the summer of 2019. He became a local legend across Alabama’s Senate offices for being the best and brightest Kinnaird.

Andrew.JPEG

Andrew Stewart Kinnaird

Darren’s younger, middle brother. Four years younger. Andrew has been there for all of the ups, downs, and all arounds. Darren got to teach Andrew a lot growing up. They made the transition from cassettes and VHS tapes to CDs and DVDs. Darren and Andrew were always Player 1 and Player 2 on video games. Darren usually got the better of Andrew, but after Ethan came along he claimed video game supremacy from his older brothers. He’s the best at sighting his opponents in Halo. Darren tried to be a cool kid, and Andrew was always game to charge in like a bull in a china shop and embarrass him. Andrew taught Darren not to take himself so seriously. Andrew has shown him what it takes to be a husband and a father. Kelly, Red, and Ames mean the world to Andrew. Andrew’s energy, passion and charisma, creativity, and love are priceless. They are brothers till the end.

Grayson Campbell Taylor

Grayson is Darren’s cousin. Just like Darren is the first grandson of his Mimi, Carolyn Tubbs Hosmer, Grayson is Mimi’s first great-grandson. Ethan and Grayson are about the same age, and Grayson has always been more of a little brother than a cousin. They enjoy a lot of the same hobbies. For example, Grayson plays college baseball for Belmont; Darren goes to a lot of Nationals baseball games. Grayson goes to college in Nashville; Darren listens to a lot of country music. The family ties and tradition run deep with Grayson joining the groomsmen. Grayson’s mom, Lori, has been like a big sister to Darren his entire life, and he was a ring bearer in her wedding.

Barrett.JPEG

J. D. Barrett Campbell

Barrett is Caroline’s oldest brother. He and Darren are both technology professionals; Barrett works in finance for a technology company. Barrett, like his sister, is an excellent host, and displayed those skills when he brought Darren and a bipartisan crew of colleagues to the Googleplex during a staff delegation trip to Silicon Valley. Barrett is dad to two of the ring bearers. He is an alumnus of Mr. Jefferson’s University of Virginia, and earned his MBA from the Kellogg School of Management. Barrett and his wife Hilary Brooks Campbell, one of Caroline’s wonderful bridesmaids, live in California.

Fleming.JPG

Fleming C. Campbell

Fleming is Caroline’s older, middle brother. He lives and works in DC, like the happy couple. Like the groom, he has worked in the political and political-adjacent world for a decade. Both worked in swing states in 2012 and helped elect two Southern Democratic Senators. To quote Fort Payne, Alabama’s poet laureate, Randy Owen, “they oughta get a rich man to vote like that.” Fleming and Darren always work together and enjoy navigating Caroline’s ever-exciting and robust social calendar. Fleming is an alumnus of the University of Florida and earned his MBA from Florida State University.

Leo Gottgens-Syfrett

Leo and the groom met in Richmond after both moved for work. They met on the rooftop of Darren’s office in 2012 during Shamrock the Block. Darren was the first new friend to ask Leo about golf course turf science instead of shirt folding. In 2013, Darren and Leo discovered they had both taken new jobs in the DC metro region. Instead of playing the Craigslist apartment lottery, they found a condo for rent halfway to each of their jobs. Leo is an alumnus of the University of Florida, citizen of the Netherlands, and avid cyclist - which he persuaded Darren to adopt up as a hobby as well.

Russel-and-Darren.jpg

Russel S. Wade

Russel and Darren met in Richmond in 2011. Russel was working as a member of then-Governor Tim Kaine’s finance team. Russel took great joy in teasing Darren for how awful Auburn is at football and “brokering” friendly wagers between Darren’s Auburn Tigers and the late, great Tyrone Gayle’s Clemson Tigers. Clemson is 4-0 against Auburn since 2011. Russel and Darren were founding members of the Sunday Supper Club hosted by Caroline’s bridesmaid, Mary Margaret Hart. Russel is an alumnus of Old Dominion University, and is a rising 3L at Washington and Lee University School of Law, the alma mater of Darren’s old boss, Giles Perkins.

Jonathan-and-Darren.jpg

Jonathan B. Hallford

Jonathan and Darren are alumni of Auburn University, the Auburn University Marching Band, and Kappa Kappa Psi fraternity. Darren’s instrument is the alto saxophone; Jonathan was in The Tuba Herd and was Fraternity President the year Darren pledged. Jonathan’s wife, Keri, also an alto saxophonist, is Darren’s Rookie Auburn Tiger (RAT) mom. Darren was a groomsman in the Schuetz-Hallford wedding in 2012. Today, Jonathan is a doctoral candidate at the Loveliest Village on the Plains and co-hosts the Advising 2 Bits podcast. The Groom will make special note for the Gators in his party, this is the Auburn version of 2 bits, not the UF version, popularized by Mr. Two Bits. Jonathan and Keri live in Opelika with their daughter Margot and their well-trained rescue dogs, Sullivan, Gypsy, and Newton.
